Standard Settlement Instructions

The constantly increasing automation and interoperability of electronic settlement systems help reduce processing times by eliminating manual settlement processes. This allows Straight-Through Processing (STP) to be achieved, and the relevant transaction details need be recorded only once. To implement efficient STP processing of frequently recurring transactions, ‘Standard Settlement Instructions’ (SSI) are defined and are used automatically during processing.

Here you’ll find our standards for processing transactions:

GeoControl

GeoControl gives your BTV debit card greater protection from misuse outside Europe.

The BTV uses the highest security level for its debit cards. However, one of the most frequent forms of misuse, known as ‘skimming’, is still on the rise. This involves copying a card’s magnetic strip at manipulated cash dispensers and viewing the PIN code. Then the stolen data are used to withdraw cash outside Europe. GeoControl gives you the option of releasing your BTV debit card for worldwide cash withdrawals.

  • Deactivating GeoControl for your Classic or Black BTV debit card
In meineBTV, you can deactivate GeoControl for your debit card for up to 90 days. To do so, log into meineBTV. First, choose the menu item ‘finances’, then the BTV debit card for which you would like to deactivate GeoControl. Then go to ‘Additional Functions’ (symbol with the three dots), click on ‘Deactivate GeoControl’, and follow the further information in the form.
